Dok Tour Eats at Marikina City's Pan De Amerikana

Lately, restaurants are coming up with new and fresh ideas on how to attract patrons. With the increasing number of food chains in and out of the metro, restaurateurs must make sure that they will have gimmicks that will make their customers keep on coming back and of course the quality of the food will not be compromised.

Pan De Amerikana

I have been to this restaurant way back my high school days and it's just this year that I have decided to write about them. Pan De Amerikana opened last April 2003 (according to their facebook fan page) and originally started as panaderia (bakery). I have no detailed information about their restaurant though I experienced firsthand some of their dishes when I visited the place.

I have tried their pandesal before but I did not order one during my most recent visit since that was a noon. Lol! But for the record, PDA houses one of the best-tasting pandesal I have tried. You can even eat it without any spread.

Dining in

Duyan

I have never been to the other branches yet aside from the main branch of Pan De Amerikana which is located at the heart of Marikina City near SSS Village. The restaurant is quite big and can accommodate a large number of people. The place is so cozy and very laid back. It's very relaxing.

Chessboard

You can even play chess while waiting for your orders!! If this is not enough, you can play chess with PDA's big chess pieces.

Woah!

Cute display

Fancy sink decors

There is also a hanging bridge inside the Marikina Branch, so, rated SPG. Ha!

The food.
Since the time I visited PDA was lunch time, I ordered their bestsellers for lunch. I was on my "diet" state that moment but when I tried their dishes, I almost ate even their plates. Lol! That's how delicious their dishes were.

Dinuguan - Php 55

Dinuguan at Php55 is already served with rice. Their own version of dinuguan tastes really authentic. I just love how vinegary this dinuguan tastes. Also, I liked how saucy it is and it's all meat. Really salivating!

Waknatoy - Php 70

Waknatoy is priced at Php 70 (ala carte) and is a proud Marikenyo cuisine. This dish tastes the same as menudo although it's saucier and more delicious! Yey!

Chicken Curry - Php 60

Chicken Curry is awesome. I just love its kick of spice, just perfect. Carrots and potatoes were also cooked just right.

My overall verdict for Pan De Amerikana is 8/10. Awesome place plus delicious food deserves a slow clap from Dok Tour!

What I didn't like about my stay?
The chubby girl who happens to be the crew who served the food to me wasn't that accommodating. If only she knows how to smile to her customers then my stay would be perfect.

Still, Cheers to Pan De Amerikana!~

Pasig, Philippines (October 15, 2014) --  Ace Hotel and Suites launches a luxurious restaurant that caters gourmet dishes good for romantic dates, get-togethers and even for people looking for a very intimate casual dining at the heart of Pasig City.

Ace Hotel and Suites.
Ace Hotel and Suites is popularly known to house an exceptional hydrotherapy spa in the country which they call as the "Ace Water Spa". It also has various restaurants and entertainment facilities, which will surely keep you coming back, namely: Ace Buffet, Ace Coffee Lounge, Party! Party! Family KTV and the Sky High Bar.

Sky Garden Fine Dining Restaurant

An exclusive food tasting event was held recently for the kick-off of Sky Garden Fine Dining restaurant attended by online media people, food critics, foodies and VIPs. The management aims to know what needs to be enhanced in the food that they will serve during the "actual production" of the restaurant and get feedback from the invited guests.

Inside Sky Garden Fine Dining Restaurant

The Sky Garden Fine Dining Restaurant is also the venue where the breakfast buffet is served for both hotel and walk-in guests and operates daily from 6am-10am.

The venue transforms into a majestic and romantic spot at the 8th floor of Ace Hotel & Suites where you can see the wonderful lights of nearby cities like Bonifacio Global City, Makati City and many more and also witness the grandiose skyscraper buildings of the metro.

Wonder in the delicious one-of-a-kind 8-course dinner to amuse your sagacious palate. The dinner will be begin with starter followed by the appetizer, and a soup of your choice to warm you throughout the night.

Sky Garden 8-course dinner menu

Garlic Bread with Mushroom Antipasto

Garlic Bread with Mushroom Antipasto is the starter and I was like, "What a way to start my dinner?" Literally, after savoring yourself with the mushroom Antipasto, you'll feel delighted. It just tastes light and cheesy! Just enough for a romantic dinner. Yay!

Shrimp & Curry

Shrimp and Curry did not fail to spice up my evening. The curry also tastes better than any other curry sauces I have tried. The shrimps are not gummy, it was cooked excellently. Asparagus is delicious. Everything with shrimp & curry is mold to perfection!

Cream of Pumpkin and Carrot

Cream of Pumpkin and Carrot will surely warm you and your date for the evening. The soup is flavorful and is quite a big serving for me. I am not a soup fan but this made me turnaround. I love it. You may also choose a light soup, Seafood Consomme. After the soup was served, salad and the palate cleanser followed.

Mixed Greens with Red Wine Vinaigrette

Mixed Greens with Red Wine Vinaigrette is phenomenal! This is the first time that I finished a salad dish in one-sitting! I just love how the red wine was used as the vinaigrette and the bleu cheese though some did not find it marvelously but let's give Bleu Cheese a break. It is one extraordinary kind of cheese! :)

Lime Sherbet in Aloe Vera Juice

Lime Sherbet in Aloe Vera Juice is what we exactly need to cleanse our taste buds and prepare ourselves for the main course. I am sure everyone needs to have a drink after the main course. There were actually 5 options as your main course and you only need to choose one--  Rib-eye steak with Sauteed Arugula and Mashed Potato, Prawns with Salted Herring Pasta, Corniche Chicken with Organic Wild Rice Pilaf, Pan-Grilled US Porkloin with Sauteed Diced Potatoes, and last but not the least is Chilean Seafood Risotto. I was told that a main course dish is good for 1 person only but it was a helluva of a dish! It's a big serving!

Rib-eye Steak with Sauteed Arugula and Mashed Potato

Rib-eye steak with Sauteed Arugula and Mashed Potato is my choice. It is very saucy which I really like because the steak sauce is delicious and really jived with my taste buds. Mashed Potato is also classy. One thing I did not like about the meat is, it's quite rubbery (just a little). Nonetheless, the dish is so courtly and delicious.

Pan-Grilled US Porkloin with Sauteed Diced Potatoes

Pan-Grilled US Porkloin with Sauteed Diced Potatoes is my other option. As this was a food tasting event, I got to try two dishes but when you will dine here, you'll just have a choice of 1 main course dish. The porkloin is smoky and I just love its texture. Although it is quite dry, I would prefer it that way than being too oily. The sauce also tastes great as well as the diced potatoes. The presentation of the dish is majestic!

Other options as main course..

Chilean Seafood Risotto

Prawns with Salted Herring Pasta

Corniche Chicken with Organic Wild Rice Pilaf

eTo complete your romantic dinner, Sky Garden gives you three options for your dessert namely: Molten Lava Cake ala Mode, Creme Brulee or Tiramisu.

Molten Lava Cake ala Mode

Molten Lava Cake ala Mode is my choice of dessert. Aside from its salivating presentation, molten lava cake boasts a very sweet chocolate that will surely excite and give happy hormones to anyone who will ingest it.

Other options for desserts..

Tiramisu

Creme Brulee

A cup of coffee or tea is also served during your dining experience in the Sky Garden Fine Dining Restaurant.

All of these are only Php 1, 299 net per person while a special discounted rate of only Php 899 net per person from October 18 until November 30, 2014 is yours to enjoy every Tuesday to Sunday 6pm to 11pm.

Brickfire Steakhouse - Not Your Ordinary Steakhouse

Brickfire is a budget-friendly steakhouse. Its flagship dishes are The Duke and the Cowgirl Annie, which are generous cuts of tender local beef classically seasoned with salt and pepper.
That is where Brickfire stops being your typical budget steakhouse and becomes so much more.

Brickfire

One of the biggest differences with Brickfire is how the beef is cooked. Instead of the steaks being grilled, they are baked in a Brickfire oven, keeping the steaks tender and sealing in the flavorful juices, which is key to that irresistible beefy taste often found lacking in thinly cut, grilled steaks.

Cowgirl Annie (c) Jovan Cerda

The Duke (c) Jovan Cerda

Brickfire doesn’t just stop differentiating itself there. It takes further steps into the diverse art of preparing steaks by offering two additional playful flavors: Honey Mustard and Wasabi. The Honey Mustard steaks are made with the famous Filipino sweet tooth in mind and are a nice alternative to the traditional salt and pepper flavor.
