November 12, 2017 - The day of our flight to Palawan. Just before this day, I tried searching the net for possible places to stay in with a very low budget without compromising the quality of experience. I bumped in to Palo Alto Bed & Breakfast located just 10-15 minutes away from the airport.
Welcome to Palo Alto
Palo Alto is by far the friendliest and most hospitable bed & breakfast I've stayed in.
I am saying this without exaggeration. I was actually searching via agoda for possible places to stay in and saw Palo Alto priced at a whooping Php 1,100! That's very affordable considering the place is just a few kilometers away from the airport. Of course, you need a credit card to book via agoda, however, I just had my card replaced and it's still at the bank so I don't have any options to reserve our accommodation. I immediately called Palo Alto and asked if I can reserve the "agoda price" and pay when we arrive to their place. Luckily by the end of the day, the senior marketing supervisor of Palo Alto, Ms. IO, sent me a message and agreed to my proposal.
We arrived at the airport 30 minutes ahead of the expected time of arrival. I learned that Palo Alto offers free pick-up from the airport to the hotel. I notified Io that we already arrived in Puerto Princesa and few minutes later, our pick-up service arrived. Sweet!
Why Palo Alto Bed & Breakfast?
I saw the photos in their website and all I ever wanted is to have a relaxing place to stay in since their place is consisted mostly of wooden structures which aesthetically enhanced the beauty of nature. I love anything relaxing and eco-friendly, and so Palo Alto it is!
Upon arrival, we were greeted with welcome drinks, cucumber juice. Welcoming us is a screen with our names formally greeting us at the wall of their reception lobby. We were just surprised on how hospitable their staffs were. Everyone was giving us their biggest smiles and warm welcomes. I mean for that price, well you really have to treat your guests well, we felt like VIPs. Palo Alto impressed us big time!
Palo Alto is true to their mission to give their guests a very relaxing staycation. Our room is huge which is good to accommodate one family. You just have to ask their staff for additional beds if needed. The comfort room is OK, it's clean. What impressed us the most is their wooden structure theme which is consistent even inside the rooms. Good job Palo Alto! Just one little thing which I did not like about our stay is that the cable has very weak signal. Sucks but negligible. Divert your attention to their instagram-worthy bed & breakfast!
Checking-in in Palo Alto includes free access to their pool which is just few steps away from our room, free Wi-Fi, free transfer to-or-from the airport and a nice breakfast for 2. The pool is so clean and looks well-maintained. Kudos to Palo Alto for this.
Needless to say, our stay in Palo Alto Bed & breakfast is one of our favorites. It's like staying at home away from home.
