Dok Tours Marikina City's Animal Trail

It has been a month since I last posted on this blog due to very busy schedules at work. But you know, I always keep myself updated on everything that is happening in the blogosphere and other social media platforms. Anyhoo, one day I decided to pay a visit to Marikina City's Animal Trail located on the riverbanks of the city. Before, many residents of Marikina City and even the nearby cities' residents hang around the animal trail. There are joggers who stroll the riverpark and even picnic-goers.

Marikina River

Zonta Club's Gazebo

There are lots of things that I liked about Marikina City since then. Waste management is very strict and done on a regular basis. Curfew hours during the time indicated on the signages placed all over the city's posts. Shoes are really of good quality and now lots of restaurants are booming within the vicinity of the city. But what I didn't like about my visit recently was captured by my iPhone.

Trash by the riverbanks

It was really disappointing to see these trashes knowing that Marikina City was once included in the list of the Cleanest Cities in Asia. I also checked Animal Trail everyone's visiting back then.

Armless Monkey

Headless and Armless Monkey

I was welcomed by these armless and headless monkeys.

Wrecked Hippo

Are these carabaos?

Vandalized Cows

And more wrecked animal statues inside the trail. You can't even recognize some of the animals there. And found again trashes inside the trail.

Trash again

Although, there are still some animal statues that are in OK state.

Zebra

Camel

Elephant

Giraffe

Bear

I know the city government is doing their best in restoring the beauty and the cleanliness of the city even if they oftentimes experience catastrophe. I hope they would also do their best to bring back the Glory Days of the Marikina Riverpark and its Animal Trail.

Hello, Mayor Del De Guzman! I hope this would reach your good office.

Superbike Racing Team "ART" (ATAT Racing Team)

Superbike Racing is known as a foreign sport for the adrenaline junky, with speeds reaching up to 300kph on straights and corners with very sharp turns. In a more technical sense, it is a category of motorcycle racing wherein tuned versions of motorbikes available for sale to the public are used for competitive racing in the tracks.

Philippine National Superbike Championship

Not known to many of Filipinos, Philippines actually has a growing and thriving superbike racing community. Races have been hosted regularly in our top racing circuits in Batangas and Clark, Pampanga. Teams have also been formed representing the top motorbike manufacturers such as Aprilia and Ducati. The Philippine Superbike Championship has produced the biggest grid of Superbikes in the Philippine Motor Racing history and will the series will end this weekend at Clark International Speedway October 4 and 5.

ATAT Racing Team at the Phil. Nat'l Superbike Championship

One of the teams that have been gaining popularity in the superbike racing scene is the ATAT Racing Team. The ATAT Racing Team "ART" is an affiliate of Any Time All the Time (ATAT) Motorcycle Club. This motorcycle club is the only all-Italian Superbike Club in the Philippines. This highly exclusive, by-invite-only group is comprised of 24 CEOs, business owners, and top executives. The spirit of the group lies in their common passion for motorcycle riding on the road and on the track, and in their advocacy for motorsport safety. ART is composed of 14 active front racers with top of the line superbikes from Aprilia and Ducati.

On October 5, 2014, witness 12 ART racers together with their sponsors, Fila, Technomarine, Assurant, Foilacar and Megaworld take the grid on Sunday and test their skill against other racers in their respective categories.

R3RUN for Sustainability

Held last August 10 was the R3RUN spearheaded by Qanta Paper Corporation, a company that provides affordable and hygienic paper products to Filipino families. Together with Qanta Paper Corporation in heading the advocacy of R3RUN was Jasmine Curtis-Smith who was one of the most visible endorser of the said fitness event.

R3RUN 2014 was held in BlueBay Walk in EDSA-Macapagal Avenue, Pasay City. The event started with the introduction of the hosts and some TV personalities like Kylie Padilla and Jasmine Curtis-Smith. The advocacy of the run was also discussed which is to inspire environmental action among Filipino consumers and raise awareness on climate change and also to encourage Filipinos to use green-labelled products because it is such a big help for the environement in a way.

The actual run started at around 5AM for 12KM runners, 5:20AM for 8KM runners and so on. With an overwhelming number of participants in the run event, I can say R3RUN or Reuse, Reduce, Recycle was very successful and I am looking forward for more run events from Qanta Paper Corp.

Huge number of runners!!!

As what I have mentioned before, The runs and walks are interesting in themselves because you go through different parts of the community and you are  taking some steps everyday to improve your health. And you know, you see a whole lot more of life when you are running.

Present also in the event are Saucony Philippines, Gardenia, Eco, Perfect & Pocari Sweat. Overall, the event was successful in terms of making the people conscious about the usage of paper products and its benefits in our planet.

Thanks to Wazzup Pilipinas for the race kits!!

Dok Tour-approved!
Cheers!~

The send-off party started with the introduction of the coaches of the Team Azkals U21. They said their expectations to the team are high and are asking all the Filipinos to support the team in their fights. It then followed by the introduction of the players of U21 Azkals. The players filled the venue with so much energy and fun as they were introduced by their Team Captain.

The team will be leaving the country to compete in Hassanal Bolkiah Cup in Brunei that will happen on August 9 to 23. The team will be sending 19 players in Bolkiah Cup but only 18 will be allowed to play. Before that, the team made sure that all of them are trained very well and at their very best on the said cup.
The team trained in Singapore and had a friendly practice fight with some of the global teams there. They had a goalless draw fight. Coach Jim Fraser, head coach of Team Azkals U21, said that the result of the friendly fight was good since they were able to defend and at the same time oppose. He described it as well-executed.

Coach Jim also said that he is confident that the team will bring home the bacon as they worked and trained hard for this international competition.

U21 Azkals is in Group A together with Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Timor Leste. On the other hand, Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam will join in Group B.
